Privacy Policy

Scope

This policy covers the Grace Bible app for iPhone and iPad (“the app”) and explains how the app handles information. It does not cover the App Store itself, your device’s operating system, or any outside service the app connects to, each of which is governed by its own privacy policy.

Information the app collects about you

None. The app has no sign-up or login, builds no user profile, and contains no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party tracking software. It does not ask for or access your contacts, photos, location, camera, or microphone.

The read-aloud feature uses your device’s built-in speech engine to speak verses you have selected. Nothing is recorded, and no audio leaves your device.

Information stored on your device

As you use the app, it saves the following locally, in the app’s private storage on your device:

• Bookmarks and their notes, your Bible lists, and your reading history.
• Preferences such as text size, light or dark appearance, and which translations you have enabled.

This information stays on your device. It is also included in the device backups you control (for example an iCloud or computer backup), which are handled by you and Apple, not by the app. The app never transmits any of it to the developer or to anyone else. You can delete individual bookmarks, lists, and history entries inside the app, and removing the app deletes all of it.

Network activity

The app is built to work offline and makes a network request in only one situation: when you open the translation catalog or download a translation. It then contacts the getbible.net service to retrieve the list of available translations and the translation file you selected.

As with any request to a website, that exchange tells the server your device’s IP address and which file was requested. The app attaches no name, email address, account, device identifier, or advertising identifier to the request. Translations and the catalog are cached on your device afterward so they remain available without a connection.

Sharing and copying verses

When you use Copy or Share on a passage, the app places the verse text on your device’s clipboard or hands it to the share sheet you choose. What happens next is controlled by your device and by whichever app you share to. Grace Bible does not send shared text anywhere itself.

Purchases

The app offers optional “tips” as in-app purchases. These are handled entirely by Apple’s App Store and StoreKit. Apple processes the payment; the developer does not receive your name, card number, or other payment details — only the standard, aggregated sales and tax reports Apple provides to every developer. Tips are voluntary, unlock no features, and are never required to use any part of the app.

Third-party services

• getbible.net provides the Bible translation catalog and translation files. When you download a translation, that request is subject to getbible.net’s own privacy practices.
• Apple provides the App Store, in-app purchase processing, and the operating system. That activity is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

The app has no other service providers. It shares no information with anyone, because it collects none.

Children’s privacy

The app is suitable for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Data retention and your choices

Because the app keeps information only on your device, you are in control of it. Delete bookmarks, lists, or history from within the app at any time, or delete the app to remove everything it has saved. The developer holds no copy of your data and therefore has nothing to retain, export, or delete on your behalf.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s data practices change, this page will be updated and the “last updated” date above will change with it. Meaningful changes will also be noted in the app’s App Store release notes.
